Putin's war

Debates

Putin's nonsensical attempt to recreate a Soviet Union that vanished decades ago has reduced Russia to a dim shadow of its former self. The bulk of Russia's young talent has left the country, the economy is in decline, his feeble attempts to use North Korean soldiers has accomplished little. Ukraine clearly has the upper hand and is now showering Russian targets with drone strikes almost at will.

How long before Putin realizes this is a war he cannot win?

Putin is just like Trump, only more so.

He just hides it better.

99 percent of the attacks are hitting the Ukraine means Russia is losing 🙄

One helicopter goes down means the USA is losing 🙄

The stink around here is Leau de'lusional

@paradox4

Ukraine has a finite amount of men.
They drag men to war and many flee.
We have many of them here in Canada.

That war may last another decade but it's only a matter of time before Ukraine falls.
Of course Russia could quit at any time but I doubt that will happen.

Allowing strikes within Russia could garner support for enlistment for Russian forces.
When your family gets bombed by a Ukrainian drone, nobody cares who started it.

Don't forget that they have lost well over one million soldiers so far also. Well Over half a million killed so far.

Putin has blocked men of military age from leaving the country after thousands tried to flee his draft.

Dictators never think they can "lose" because there's no one to say that to the dictator's face.

Why do you defend the aggressor Russia?

Oh, yeah, they helped your idol Trump.

How severe is Russia’s energy shortage because of Ukrainian strikes?

Analysts say Russia’s fuel crisis may affect its domestic economy, but the war in Ukraine will remain the Kremlin’s priority.

Russia Closes Railway Border Crossings With Finland and Baltic Neighbors

Russia has closed seven railway border checkpoints with Finland, Estonia and Latvia, according to a government decree published Tuesday.

The suspension, which takes effect July 1, halts the movement of individuals, vehicles and cargo through the designated rail crossings. Five of the shuttered checkpoints are located on the Finnish border, while Estonia and Latvia each have one crossing affected.

Officials have not disclosed the reasons for the closures or when the checkpoints might reopen.

i decided to peruse russian sources for news
i was amazed at how the english language TASS sounded just like a regular ole fox "news" station

i must go read some more
but not from here, lol

I remember at the beginning that much blame was aimed at the West for allegedly provoking Putin. Still one of the dumbest arguments ever.

Not only was Ukraine ineligible to join NATO due to needing to complete NATO's MAP program, but both Germany and France blocked Ukraine from ever being able to join.

So how was the West in any way responsible for Putin's invasion? Because of a NATO invitation *sixteen years prior* to the invasion that went nowhere?

Glad to see no one's blaming the West any more.

the reported number of lives lost, both ukraine and russian, are staggering

let me be clear for the folks who like to spin stuff
russian casualties outnumber ukrainian casualties three to one
the russians are losing this war

This was also @Metal-Brain's recent brain-deficient argument.

The only ones saying the opposite are Trump's cheerleaders for Russia.

Most are fine watching Russia send all their young men off to die and watching Russia's economy collapse for Putin's ego. I think it serves as a great warning for America not to do the same thing for Trump's ego. But recent events in Venezuela and Iran show that Trump's not listening at all.

Same for No1Marauder.

Hopefully he's wised up and realized when you're making the same arguments as Metal Brain, you're on the wrong side.

Metal Brain's not wrong about there being a ruling class of old money upper class mostly Anglo-American heirs who are manipulating the world.

He just needs to realize they're not hiding behind figureheads. They're right out in the open and Trump's one of them.
