A: Women
For the last decade nearly 60% of college students and graduates have been female, and that number is growing; as a result, women have been moving into leadership positions in business, law and government. Today it's not unusual for female managers, supervisors, CEO's department heads etc. to manage teams of male subordinates. As America moves deeper into the information age, and "smokestack America" continues its journey into the history books, it will be brains, and not muscle that will be the real power.

@mchill saidSeems unlikely. Sure, representation of women in major positions may increase a bit and certainly a woman will likely be President over the course of the next decade or two. But will we get to the point that MOST powerful figures and CEOs will be women? Very unlikely.

Why? It's simple. The median woman may be more educated and possibly even more intelligent than the median man, but the population of men tends to have bigger tails. This means more men at the top and bottom ends of the spectrum in most relevant characteristics.
Becoming a good top-level leader takes not only intelligence, but also ambition, aggressiveness, willingness to take risks and, frankly, not worrying about being overly nice.
I'm sure there are some women who reach the highest echelons of these characteristics, but it's hard to see them being a majority.
@mchill saidCorporations run the government right now . Unless Citizens United is overturned they will continue to run our government . Democracy in the US is an illusion . Prove me wrong !

Women have been educated and qualified enough to be in a leadership positions for at least a century (before then women faced social and legal discrimination that made higher education and political experience harder to obtain). Women being educated and qualified enough isn't the problem, societal barriers are.
@no1marauder saidYup.....'The Golden Rule.'
@mchill
Rich people.
And the vast majority won't be women.
Ya' got the gold, ya' make the rules.
Obama And the creepy mysterious Susan Rice will run this country in the near future. Who knows what will be going on 50 years from now. I think that if the Republicans do get the next four years that will only be temporary, as Obama continues to build. Remember, Muslims, binLaden et al, plan 500 years in advance, Obama is of the same mindset, same mission. One day he will probably be wearing a robe as he speaks to the masses..
@earl-of-trumps saidThey were also all born with a golden spoon in their mouths, and a complete lack of scruple.
You know who runs america...? Gates, Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg, Cook, Jobs etc.
And did you know that Gates, Zuckerberg, and Jobs all dropped out of college? Talk to me about book knowledge.
@shallow-blue saidShallow Blue, who is heavily deep into social media, talks about their lack of scruples. Hypocrisy??
They were also all born with a golden spoon in their mouths, and a complete lack of scruple.
AND, he lies.....I guess this is a lie, unless you are talking to Suzianne. She may find it an inconvenient truth, or some such...
Here is the lie of Shallow Blue. "Zuckerberg (et al) were born with a golden spoon"",. Shallow, neither he nor many other rich guys were born rich. You and Marauder need to take a vacation.....and you especially, from Social Media.
@averagejoe1 saidSometimes, letting the other posters know what the F you're talking about helps.
On another note, I hope everyone appreciates my 'to the point' posts, where I do little or NO links. Do you like links, or good bantering ?
