@no1marauder saidThanks for weighing in on that.
$12.4 billion in US dollars.
"In 2023, the last measurements available, Switzerland spent 0.6% of its GNI on foreign development projects, according to the OECD.
This placed Switzerland as the seventh most generous nation and not far from the UN target of 0.7%. In 2022, Switzerland contributed 0.56% of its GNI to development aid." https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/forei ...[text shortened]... contrast, contributed a mere 0.24% of its GNI. https://donortracker.org/donor_profiles/united-states
I would also like to point out that Switzerland has four official national languages, and that the next two most commonly spoken (non-official) languages are English and Portuguese. We have a large number of Hispanics here, many of whom work in domestic- and health care. We don't have a problem with that. 25% resident aliens must be pretty near the top of the list for any European country, I reckon, and we don't have a problem with that, whereas some hysterical people in America seem to think Hispanics from south of the border are going to 'replace' them. It's fear mongering, and Trump deliberately stokes fear.
@no1marauder saidExcuse me for butting in here, but it seems it me that the issue is not where the plane is (in international air space or on the ground or anywhere else), but whether the deportations were legal at all, and the judge surely meant his injunction in that sense, namely, the deportees should be returned and due process invoked.
Karoline Leavitt has a BA in Communications and Politics from St. Anselm's College which she attended on a softball scholarship. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karoline_Leavitt
She's completely unqualified to make judgments regarding legal matters and merely parrots what her boss tells her to say.
Furthermore, Trump's legal team and press secty are ludicrously inconsistent, given that Trump himself declared that air space to be the Gulf of America, so the plane was in American air space, by Trump's own (albeit wacky) definition.
@AverageJoe1 saidVermin?
We can all agree, simply, that Trump has a LOT of S--t to clean up, beginning with getting the vermin the hell out of our country. So, it stands to reason he has people working 24/7 t devise ways to physically kick them out. I am sure you will agree. Maybe the 1798 statute won't be allowed, but we want him to try anything, don't we?
it also stands to reason that ...[text shortened]... ulate, of course, that the vermin have no rights in this country, except maybe freedom from torture.
Really?
@AverageJoe1 saidHe said the D of I, not the Constitition, although you seem ignorant of both.
