i will answer gavin. they still do make dvorak keyboards, but they tend to be expensive.
my son made one for by just rearranging the keys on a regular one and since we use linux, we merely switched to a dvorak mapping. you don't have to physically switch the keys though once you just learn where everything is.
it took me about 2 weeks to feel comfortable with it, but after that i picked up speed and do type faster than the qwerty. it is supposed to be far less strenuous too.
