Sweden, what the hell is wrong with you?

Ake Green is an obvious douche, but still should have the freedom to worship however he wants. Religious freedom is something that should be celebrated, even if it gives us whackos such as the Westboro Baptist Church.

Once a government acts upon a religion because of their religious beliefs it is overtly saying that they do not agree with that religion. That is bad. What is worse though is when the government endorses a particular religion to get into office.

Seriously, Abba and Volvo were'nt enough of a clue already?

Where will it end? If Church leaders end up being gagged over what they can say, does that mean that eventually the Luciferians will sue if anyone brings up that nasty slur about sin and the fall of man?

Well, I think the argument is that it isn't a religious comment he is making but rather that he is using his position as a platform to make a "hate speech".

He does seem a bit upset about homosexuality.

We have a law in Sweden that forbids us from slandering others or express and nurture hatred towards any group of people. In my personal opinion this law is rubbish. I think I should be allowed to say whatever the hell I want without being held back by the law. For instance, if I happen to like Hitler and wish to pronounce to the whole world that all Jews are lying, backstabbing, money greedy devils that would sell their own mothers for the right profit, I should be allowed to say that flat out without risking a lawsuit on my hand.

The same freedom of speech allows the people I attack verbally to spread similar nonsense about me. This is good. No one can be made a martyr or victim like the nut case Åke. No one can spread lies because people will be able to defend themselves without risking governmental control to step in and silence them.

Here's the problem with Åke. He was a respected man of the church, controlling the minds of a lot of people apparently incapable of thinking for themselves. By spreading prejudice thoughts about an already exposed group (gay people) he was making it harder for them to live a normal life. He may believe whatever he wants about gay people, but he may not take it upon himself to encourage others to treat gay people as bad within the borders of Sweden. If it's really such a bad thing, being gay, I'm sure his oh so mighty God will punish them when the day comes.

Still, I don't like the verdict because too many are now supporting Åke like he's actually worth the time. Ridiculous. The best way to deal with crazy people like that is to simply ignore them, let them speak and when someone acts on such prejudice thought bring that fogger down like it's the end of the world. YEAH!

Seriously, I don't like laws either. They're always in the way of free thought. And without free thought, we can't really get anywhere. I'm sure if Åke would have been left alone, most people would just shake their heads at him and make the universal gesture meaning: he's a loony. For that is his true nature, as far as I can tell.

Hands up all those who supported Denmark and the right to free speech of the press in publishing a few little innocent cartoons!

Do you think that his censorship has made him more of a martyr or a symbol of "tolerance" that makes homosexuals people feel more a part of their community?

Short of allowing incitement to murder, which muslim immigrants to the UK have been allowed to preach with disastrous results, I agree with you.

Well, what a turn up for the book, as they say.
Good ; we have evidently found common ground.

"Thought crime" is one step away from legislating what is acceptable to think. All Sweden's remaining ministers should test the waters by delivering their sermons on the same topic next Sunday.

I wish Åke was here. I wonder how that silly bugger would react to this?

Well, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't know gays are likely
to rape children and animals.

Now please excuse me, I must leave. My dog is outside and
I have a gay neighbor.

All hate speech laws should be repealed.

Hate cannot be restricted through legislation. Speech should not be.
