So ANY reduction in SS is the direct result of POLITICAL pressure do do so like that POS Musk willy nilly slashing agency employees without the slightest deep look at what can be cut without effecting overall performance for any individual agency.
But Musk just goes TEN PERCENT MUST GO and we don't give a rats ass WHO they are, CUT TEN PERCENT or whatever.
There is NO oversight to those reductions and whether the overall performance of that agency will be effected.
Like in SS MUSK has totally screwed the phone lines so you might have to wait a full day before you can get anyone on the phone, so in my case there is NOBODY I can talk to about why my SS has been cut over one hundred dollars. BECAUSE of MUSK.

CONGRESS does not have the authority to GIVE Trump that power because it is SPECIFICALLY spelled out in law Trump could be given LIMITED ability to tariff, not to be able to split us apart from our former allies which you dismiss as no big deal but I can tell you it IS a big deal.
May I remind you, YOU are a provincial, hanging around your little neighborhood viewing the world through your rose lenses watching fox news or Newsmax or whatever political ROT you watch, knowing ZERO about the world outside your little fiefdom.
But I went to a Lutheran School K to 8 and could FEEL how wrong their teachings were and I wanted to see for myself what the world was like and that wanderlust never left me and as soon as I could I got employment overseas, in several countries for several years in each one and LIVED with those people UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL, not in some frigging hotel. I WANTED to see what people were like in those countries and I only regret not seeing more of it.
But it opened my mind to the FACT that the US is not the big power it thought it was and now Trump is driving that home with a huge spear stabbed right in the heart of Americans driving away our dearest friends, friends I KNEW PERSONALLY BECAUSE I took the chance to see those countries up close and not for a stupid two week tourist visit which shows you nothing but what they want you to see.
I can tell you stories of what I saw up close and personal but you would only consider them boring.
All of which is not to say I am someone intrinsically superior. I just have a wider world view and consider myself to be a citizen of planet Earth not JUST a US citizen, that there are problems out on our planet that the US could change for the better and actually did like with USAID and what I saw in Jerusalem when I spent YEARS there, was one instance of good the US did but not for Israel, a solid ally but for the Palestinians, because the Jordan river ran dry, Israel sucks up 99.9% of it leaving drek not fit to wash your feet much less grow crops.
Which is not to say I am antisemite, some of my best friends ever were Jews in Israel and OUR crowd HATED what Naten YAHOO did and is doing right now.
So back to the Palestinians, one good deed we did for them, was to build a one hundred MILLION dollar seawater desalination plant that gave pure water FOR THE PALESTINIANS.
THAT is the kind of good will programs like USAID did around the world and you dismiss as frivolous.
Those kind of programs are what makes friends and maybe convert some enemies to friends but now with Trump acting like an IDIOT wanting to pull out of the greatest alliance in world history for the past EIGHTY YEARS, NATO, and making an IDIOT out of himself whenever he meets foreign leaders it drives a STAKE into the heart of those alliances and they now cut down tourism in the US 30% and you don't think that doesn't effect states depending on tourism?
Or closing down National parks, cutting employees so far a park can't be run?
THIS is somehow supposed to make America BETTER?
And a thousand other things about Trump you and I BOTH know which I don't need to repeat but Trump has singlehandedly destroyed trust and alliances that REALLY helped us around the world and I don't think you have a CLUE as to which country is taking up the slack sucking up to our former allies.
