I've never seen the NYT OpEd in better form. It is absolutely beautiful how they have turned over a rotten log and exposed the scurrying of thousands of slimy, frantic Republicans.

- Why are Republicans ready to abandon American ideals like truth and honesty in order to win a campaign?
- Why are Republicans still so afraid of blacks, who have lived in this country since colonial times?
I admire John McCain in many ways. He is no racist (a racist would not adopt a Bangladeshi baby.) McCain is so much better than his supporters -- one wonders how a decent man can stand to be around them. The only things I fear about McCain are his impulsivity, his handlers, and his age.
It would also be a huge mistake to "reward" the Republican "management team" including people like Rove and Cheney for 8 years of mismanaging the US's affairs -- making us a world pariah and throwing our economy down the toilet. It would be an equally bad mistake to put a neophyte like Palin a step from the White House. There is no way she could handle those guys.
And the only coherent Republican reply? (chanting) "Obama is a ter-ror-ist! Obama is a Mus-lim!"
Honestly, it is like debating a 7-year old.
