Republicans, I suggest you write your lawmakers and tell them the following:
1. Verbally trashing the democrats, whining about your objection to abortions in the face of a Roe v Wade that's been the law of the land for decades, calling all democrats "socialists", refusing to work with democrats and pandering to tea party extremists that have no interest in compromising on ANYTHING, will NOT get you any additional votes from the independent and swing voters.
Until the GOP starts solving problems, rather opposing everything Obama wants, and slinging verbal mud at the democrats, you'd better be prepared for the fact that Hillary R Clinton will be our next President, and the democrats will control at least part of congress. Without an alternative game plan that the general population can get behind, the GOP has nothing to offer other than name calling, it won't enough folks....

The truth is that if the Republicans had a candidate that could clearly explain conservative position, they'd have a real chance of the winning the election. Even if they won't win the presidency, I am not sure why they should simply adopt policies that they don't agree with.

Originally posted by bill718You make it sound like Republican don't win elections. I remember quite a few Republican presidents in my lifetime and there are still Republicans in Congress -- in fact there are so many that you whine about the fact that they don't just rubber stamp everything you'd like them to do. I believe the difference in the last election was the ability to explain their positions.

I am in no way associated with the Republican party so it is not my message.

The Tea Party should instead look to elect state officials who will amend the Constitution apart from the federal cluster. They should seek a balanced budget amendment and seek to impose term limits.
Enough of the hopelessly dysfunctional federal government. All they know how to do is run up massive debt and create wars abroad, but then, that is what collectivist regimes do. Meanwhile the poor keep getting poorer as those in the federal governmet point the finger at the Tea Party who has no real power in the federal government.
