What political figures or pundits of the opposite political spectrum from you do you respect? For conservatives, I mean other than the obvious, like Sinema, Manchin or Lieberman.

For me, definitely Ron Paul.

You're thinking of Rand Paul.

Ron was his father. He was an uber-libertarian who would run for the GOP nomination every 4 years and his followers would come out of the woodwork to demand that the Fed be audited, isolationist foreign policy and to tell the truth about the Moon landing.
