The post that was quoted here has been removedIt suits leaders to demonise the enemy ... it makes killing them more palatable.
In the American civil war - brother fighting brother - many soldiers fired above
the heads of their enemies. So too it happened in WW1, but less so perhaps, as
the British had been reliably informed that the Hun routinely ate babies.
The leadership of all regimes don't like the idea of us realising we are one.
@vivify saidPeople who have nothing will take up hate.
That's irrelevant to the fact that there's no real animosity from southerners toward the north *today*. Trump, a life-long and famous New Yorker, is immensely popular in the south.
We're getting away from your original point which is an important one: differing sides of a war should be able to move on and forget, generally speaking. Forgiveness is far more important than harboring hate.
Someone to blame.
Hitler used the Jews.
Trump uses Islam and blacks.
The post that was quoted here has been removedDidn't say it did. I pointed out racism has more to do with Southern resentment than the actual loss itself. If southerners could still keep slaves after after being forced to remain in the Union there would be no southern resentment.
It's ludicrous for Vivify to act as though Donald Trump represents every Northerner to white Southerners.
He's only one individual.
No. Trump was synonymous with New York and constantly lauded NYC as the greatest city on earth. Trump's brand and image was always tied to him being a New Yorker, the city he was born and raised in.
Duchess, there's no need to start attacking. Isn't your OP about forgiveness and moving on rather than harboring hate?
