How it's going...
BENNET: Did you say Lyme disease is a highly likely militarily engineered bioweapon?
RFK Jr: I probably did say that
BENNET: Did you say that exposure to pesticides causes children to become transgender
RFK Jr: No
BENNET: I have the record.
Yiiiiiikes!

@wildgrass saidThis is what comes from assuming white people are the best for every job.
Any normal month this would be a big story. The nominee for director of the DHHS is saying that transgender thoughts are caused by farm fertilizer runoff?
Now,,,, crickets. Normalize incompetence. At the same time, applaud meritocracy.
Eventually you're gonna run into that dumb AF white guy.
How Trump collected so many of them together is a mystery. (Not really.)

@wildgrass saidRFK didn't just say "no" he added "I never said that"

Without seeing this "record" I don't think you can assume that wasn't, at the very least, taken out of context.

@Mott-The-Hoople saidWell, if that's the record that Sen. Bennet was referring to then yup, that's pretty darn out of context.

@sh76 saidRFK has repeatedly suggested this, using evidence from experiments in frogs that don't translate to human studies.

Here's just one example of him saying that chemical exposures cause gender dysphoria in humans and then segue to the evidence by saying "by the way..." to cite the frog study. None of it is reproduced in humans. Proper interpretation of scientific evidence is kind of an important job for HHS Secretary.

@sh76 saidNo that's not the "record". That's the scientific study that Kennedy refers to when he says that gender dysphoria is caused by pesticides.

Bennet wasn't taking RFKs comment out of context. RFK is taking the science out of context.

I'd like to see it.

Gee, that must be why all those male teenagers are laying eggs all over the place.
@no1marauder said===“If you expose frogs to atrazine, male frogs, it changes their sex and they can actually bear young. They can lay eggs, fertile eggs,” Kennedy said in the June 2022 episode of his podcast.

“And so the capacity for these chemicals that we are just raining down on our children right now to induce these very profound sexual changes in them is something we need to be thinking about as a society,” he added.===
Meh. I don't know. A bit of a non-sequitur, sure. But the underlying point that if chemicals are so string they can cause sexual changes in frogs, it might be a good idea to stay away from them, is not crazy.
