Russia sues Google, Facebook, Twitter for not deleting protest content – Ifax

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian authorities are suing five social media platforms for allegedly failing to delete posts urging children to take part in illegal protests, the Interfax news agency cited a Moscow court as saying on Tuesday.

Twitter, Google, Facebook each have three cases against them, with each violation punishable by a fine of up to 4 million roubles (around $54,000), and cases have also been filed against Tiktok and Telegram, the report said.

Sure to be tossed out but interesting, nonetheless. Are the Social media Platforms guilty of bias - at the very least?

Can you see the Cancel-Culture 25 years from now acting up against these social media giants?

Interesting cannon fodder.

They will comply if they don't want to be banned from Russia. There is no facebook in Syria because the US government used social media to encourage riots in an attempt to overthrow Assad. Russia will not allow things to get that bad. They will ban them all first.

LOL using social media to encourage the overthrow of a sovereign nation's leader??? WTF?

But it's not about "banning" is it? This is about getting their asses sued off.

Not in this scenario. There's a difference between encouraging protests and encouraging a riot at a nation's capital to overturn an election.
