In Switzerland a 64 year old dies by assisted suicide in a socalled "sarco" machine.

Should assisted suicide be allowed?

Just like women's sovereignty over their own bodies should be respected, so should elderly people's sovereignty over their own bodies be respected, as long as they are of sound mind.

In fact a stromg argument against euthanasia is that some are worried that people could be pressured into a early death.

And some people have fought for the right to end a live in which they saw no more sense.

A very hard decision in any way.

Euthenasia is acceptable, so long as a doctor and a psychologist are involved, to maintain objectivity.

It’s to be sure that people are indeed not pressured into anything.

When someone is in permanent debilitating pain with no way to relieve that body piercing pain what other option does a patient have? When no modern pain pills or operations helps even a little bit like Xray guided epidurals or those spinal burn procedures that results in no help.
We have a friend who has sometimes debilitating pain in her face and jaws and has had the burns done with no help. Of course she does not have total body pain to the point where she wants to end her life but sometimes all medical procedures don't help those worse affected.
The wife of my nephew just died of stomach cancer day before yesterday and the only thing that would stop the debilitating pain in a terminal cancer patient was to medicate to coma level, which might as well be a death sentence in itself, that is all that helped our Vikkie to her dying day. But even that was not enough for her to want Euthanasia so the choice has to be with the patient in concurrence with her medical team.
