The only people using this as political fodder are people like you and your far-right allies; the legal principle involved has been accepted in Florida for 15 years. You have no business imposing you view of the evidence on Terry and the Florida courts; she spoke as she did and 6 courts have found little uncertainty in the case. It is right-wingers like DeLay who are shamelessly promoting a political agenda by the use of this tragic case.
You are so refreshingly anti-democratic.

How is this "not true" Ivanhoe? Please enlighten us with your medical knowledge which I'm sure must be more than the teams of doctors and nurses that have been with this woman for the last 15 years.
Go ahead. Tell us all about it.
Why don't you try and do your own investigations, instead of only wanting to hear the side you agree with.

Also the adjudication of court issues are not meant to be decided by public opinion, so they are "anti-democratic" as well. You need a refresher course in political theory, Ivanhoe.

If you could you would smother me. That was what I was referring to.

you (et alia), Ivanhoe.
When people have made careful evaluations that just happen to
disagree with yours, you simply say, 'Well try harder.'
Medical examiner after examiner have testified to her PVS. The part
of her brain that makes her 'Terri' is dead; this has been upheld time
and time again by examiners and courts, consistently and without fail.
If you have a different opinion about Terri's specific case, then state
them. Don't refer us to other right-wing nutjobs who haven't examined
the case (like Frist).

If you want to know what I know please read the threads I initiate on this case. I don't open them just for the fun of it. There is INFORMATION to be found in them.
I am perfectly willing to answer serious questions about this case, but I am not an errantboy for people who don't want to investigate things on their own and are not even prepared to read the links or the quotes I provide from those links. Neither am I prepared to honor provocations and arrogant demands.

The statement cuts both ways. I have a sneaking suspicion that if the situation were altered and the family was trying to pull the tube, you'd be arguing up and down that the family has no business deciding such a thing.
Originally posted by ivanhoeYour statement does'nt magically become true just because you say it ivanhoe. The rights of disabled people are a totally different issue then the right to die.
Simply not true.
She did'nt wish to continue on in this fashion, and the courts all agreed. It is hers, and her husband's right to refuse any further medical treatment, as she obviously is showing no signs of improvement.
