Story in todays scotland on sunday suggests that scotland yard are now investigating government contracts as part of its investigations over the payments for peerages scandal, first raised by my good mate, western isles snp mp angus brendan mcneil.

this one is going to grow and grow methinks, this could and should bring down new labour.

BLAIR MUST GO!

I wish it were true that these enquiries would have enough traction to get people like Blair and his cronies into the hot stuff that they deserve, but we both know it won't happen. How many scandals have broke such as the David Kelly thing, Cherie-gate etc, which have had little or no effect on the Blair government when, by all standards, it should have led to major changes.

i think the difference here is that we are talking about criminal charges, and if the reporting in the story is true, then inspector knacker will be visiting a few downing street aides to assist with their enquiries!

I would have presumed that there is a correlation between donors or loan makers and the issuing of contacts.

It is harder to believe people would hand over millions of pounds for purely altruistic reasons.
