While I also disagree with a mandate - your statement is dishonest. The proposed penalty is a tax. Fines and (in extreme cases) jail time are what could happen to anyone who doesn't pay their taxes.

And BTW, great job at parroting the right-wing sensationalist talking points.
I was making a point which is the Dems are authoritarian in nature. They want us all to comply or else and continue to take over pretty much every aspect of our lives. Just wait till the EPA is turned into the KGB when cap and trade is inacted.

Please don't walking around dripping from both ends and spout off about what other people believe - heck, you barely know what you believe until some knuckledragger on the glass teat pours it down your wide open gullet. Democracy is about reaching consensus from positions of mutual respect. Vomiting incendiary drivel does nothing to solve our real problems but it is the only action available to people who just don't give a damn. Is that you? Look in the mirror before you start drawing mustaches on everyone else.

So the way it works is, lets say you support large spending and/or taxing.

a) How would you define "large"?

b) It's one thing if the GOP were one of 10 parties. Then it could afford to be parochial in that way. As one of the 2 major parties in a system, you cannot enforce that kind of litmus test... well, not if you want to win back majority of the government anyway...
As usual you are missing the point. The point is the Republican party has grown so rigid, and inflexible, one cannot call themselves a Republican unless they adhere to a narrow set of ideals. Republicans of the past, such as Goldwater or Nixon would be thought of as closet Liberals by Republicans of today. Frankly I think this is a great idea! The more inflexible the Republican party becomes, the more moderate Republicans they will lose to the Democrats😏

Oh, my...

It seems that even when I'm on your side, you seem incapable of seeing that.

Is your reading comprehension so poor that you couldn't decipher the fact that I was criticizing screening Republicans and saying that this is a BAD thing to do?

Or, did you simply see my name on the post, not bother to read it, and assume what I was going to say based on past experience?

But support of it comes from the left. In fact, I saw a Dem from the Senate the other day compare talk radio to obscenity and therefore should be banned from the air waves. Personally, I think the majority favor it but publically deny it due to the fact the issue is such a hot potato. Instead, Obama simply bans Fox news from the White House in addition to ...[text shortened]... oring questions that are asked before they are asked. There is more than one way to skin a cat.
"But support of it comes from the left"

If the overwhelming majority on the left oppose something how can you then broadbrush the left by saying it "supports" it?

"In fact, I saw a Dem from the Senate the other day compare talk radio to obscenity and therefore should be banned from the air waves."

Yeah, OK. I'd like to see that comment for myself in full context, and even IF it is true one person does not represent the party. Otherwise with people like Michele Bachmann I could have lots of fun with my portrayals of the right.

"Personally, I think the majority favor it but publically deny it due to the fact the issue is such a hot potato."

I would expect no less than for you to "think" anything you perceive as bad to be the case with the left.

"Instead, Obama simply bans Fox news from the White House in addition to censoring questions that are asked before they are asked. "

They haven't "banned" Fox from anything, they simply choose to involve themselves with Fox as little as possible. And why would they choose to associate with Rush Limbaugh, Fox, or any other arm of the right wing propaganda machine?

As far as censoring questions that is complete BS. I can show you countless youtube clips of the administration getting absolutely grilled at press confrences.

Six more weeks of Michael Steele and they won't need to screen the elephants from their drinking water. The tea-party stampede will leave elephants a dim memory.

Of course, they have no guns, remember it is only the gun toating, right wing, God fearing repubs, that have the arms.

You mean like the Dems ignoring the fact that better than half the American public does not favor such issues as a national health care plan? Then you turn to the people who protest at town hall meetings who are in opposition and call them disrespectful names? Yep, that democracy and no I really don't give a hoot about them either.

The American public has passed on it's government powers to representatives.

I remember when the right used to criticize the idea of governing from polls; when they used to champion Bush for "staying the course" despite public opposition.

Now, you've never been one to like Bush, but since you're so comfortable pigeonholing people based on their political leanings I suppose I can do the same for you. All you right wingers are the same.

Please stop electing people like GWB, rightie!

Just so long as you kids stop electing people like Obama. Don't they provide us with a grand selection? It almost makes me giddy to think about all the wonderful choices both parties have given us over the years.

Yeah, keep on believing we are not armed - that's what we want you to think.
