"Israel's navy has intercepted a ship carrying hundreds of tonnes of Iranian weapons intended for Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Israeli military has said."

Does this mean that any country can just kidnap any other country's vessel?
Or, is this piracy?

What the hell am I to make of it?
Like this sentence: "PM Benjamin Netanyahu said the arms were intended to strike Israeli cities."
How the bloody hell does he know?

And can Egypt, Syria and Iran now kidnap American, Russian and British vessels carrying weapons to Israel? Won't some Hezbollah chap just say: "Those arms were intended to murder Palestinian civilians?"

Let me guess which side of the fence on this one you're gonna come down on...

At some point the chumps who live in these middle eastern countries will finally realize that they are just pawns in a game designed to constantly create tension and hositility.

The game is money and power. It's been rigged for decades. The residents of these countries need to wake up and stop allowing themselves to be manipulated so easily.

It's called a double standard. The US and Israeli governments do them all the time.

We hear constantly of the rockets to Sderot. But we don't hear about the WP. And we certainly don't near that Sderot was originally Nejd, a Palestinian village whose population was expelled en masse in 1948.

Right. I'm sure the arms were going to be used for target practice; or maybe pest removal.

Iran gets caught in the act of arming a terrorist organization and all people like you can think to do is to complain about the seizure itself.

Reminds me of some of these criminal "justice" organizations that when a prolific drug dealer or serial murderer gets caught, the only thing they care about if trying to question the method of the police investigation.

shouldn't we be concerned about the weapons and how they were going to be used, rather than whether it was piracy or not?

Israel isn't a terrorist group, you can't compare the two.

Prolific drug dealers should not be arrested in the first place! Inalienable Right to Pursue Happiness! Prohibition!

Hasn't the different between a pirate and a privateer always been murky? And distinguished only by which side the observer is on?

Yes. If they're from a third-world country, they're considered pirates.

No. The privateer has open permission from a nation to act like a pirate. Thus there is a nation who takes responsibility.

The pirates off the coast of Somalia have Letters of Marque?! From who? Let me know so we can attack them for their acts of war on my nation.
