A 9 month old infant with a blood alcohol level of .33?

I'm surprised it lived.

So your suggestion for poisoning a baby with alcohol is what exactly? We're not talking about rubbing a little something on a teething baby's gums; this is putting a quantity of wine in a baby bottle. I wonder what the sentence for negligent homicide in Georgia is, since that was very nearly the case.

Eight years is a little harsh for an act which appears to stem mostly from ignorance and lack of education than malicious intent. Nevertheless, it's about time we start punishing people who smoke or drink during their pregnancy, as well.

You don't usually hear the pro-life movement propose anything like this -- even though it's the sort of thing they should be strongly in favor of.

Then we can very nearly give her that sentence.
