Debates

Today three years ago the Twin Towers and Pentagon attack was carried out.

I hope such or a similar event will never take place again. We will have to tackle the problem of terrorism. Let's hope the world leaders can work together on this and may they receive resourcefulness, wisdom and strenght to do so.

Let's remember the victims .......

Well, okay. But this one is already open. I mean, if you were going to remember them, you can do it on the gen. forum, right?

Yes I guess you are right, but on second thoughts it might be better, out of respect for the victims, to discuss things in another thread and reserve this thread for remembrance. I hope you will agree.

This thread does not belong to the debates IMO.

Why is remembrance in <Debates>? If I died violently, I'd want the matter argued in my name, rather than have more violence occur, unmotivated, in my name.

No it doesn't. I lost a family member who was working in the Trade Center and I really don't need remembrence thrown in my face here. Perhaps some mod will hide this thread or at least move it to general.

I agree. There is already a 'remembrance' thread in the General Forum. We don't need another one here.

The mods can move it or rather delete it. There is a thread with the same name in the General Forum. No problem

The consensus appears to be that this thread is duplicated in General and isn't wanted/needeed here. As such I'll close it, giving a people chance to transfer anything they like over to the General thread. It might be deleted later if it still seems necessary.

A personal comment, not intended as a dig at any one person: IMHO starting 2 threads on the same (or very similar) topic in quick succession either in the same or different forums is not on, regardless of subject. It's like that by increasing the number you are forcing your opinion of what you think is important on other people. If 1 thread is opened in the appropriate forum and others do think it important/interesting then it will get all the attention it deserves.

Any objections - PM me, post in forum issues, or alert this post.
