The closer one gets to real power, the more centrist they become; the more concessions are needed to keep people on board.

For example:
It’s all very well for me to shout that we need a 20$ an hour minimum wage.
But say I get elected. Suddenly there is big business saying they’ll move jobs abroad, smaller businesses saying it will financially ruin them, etc.
So, the idea has to be watered down.

For example:
Geert Wilders and the PVV came to power in the Netherlands on a very anti-migrant ticket. Promising to get opt-outs in the EU.
That’s not possible. Opt-outs can only be bargained at certain moments. So, their strict stance will water down; transform into something else.

Obviously some politicians will just lie about their achievements. But eventually they’ll trip on their own policies.

It is alright to change opinions.

JMAX, SHAV, and Vivify seem to have no problem with electing someone who reminds me of my Aunt Ismerelda, looking out each morning to see what way the wind is blowing, and adopting herself a personna for the day.

Oh, well. As long as we are all aware of what we get on Nov 5. I am thinking none of you have families to care about, and, like Shav, simply live day to day, amassing nothing.
