Never mind the grift and graft -- perhaps from some peculiar perspective Trump's second administration could be described as a "shakedown cruise" in the sense of testing a vessel (or a system) before it launches, to make sure all systems are working, all the bolts are tightened, etc.
However, this vessel was launched in 1791, and when Trump and his cowardly bought-and-sold minions seek and test the weak points in our system of governance, they are not looking to strengthen America, but to destroy it.
@Arkturos saidTrump's shakedown started in 2015. He's been grifting and grafting ever since.

(Anyone see his latest ad for the "Trump watch"? Disgusting.)
He's made almost a billion dollars since January of this year off the American people.
Half of America, gullible sheep. Now THAT is sad.
@Suzianne saidI think it would be fairer, more compassionate, and more respectful to describe Trump supporters as trusting rather than gullible.

I hope we can get to a point where at least we can say, "I hate you but I love you, and you are completely wrong but I will -- in the grand American tradition -- support your right to be wrong."
The cosmopolitan, coastal, academic Democrats have good, inclusive intentions (when they don't have their heads up their own semiotic towers), but they come across as equally unconstitutional with their totalitarian aura of thought- and speech-policing.
Also, I think maybe the Dems might have too many "soft-sciences" leaders and not enough engineers and logistical thinkers to consider and improve the lot of people living in the American interior, far from the coasts.
@Arkturos saidHow brave to not support those who support you.

One can only guess from this that you also support those who do not support you.
How brave.
And how stupid.
