Should attacking source be a "fallacy"?

A con-artist will tell you a truth, then fool you with a lie.

A good con-artist will tell you 3 truths, then rip you off with a big lie.

A master con-artist will tell you 9 truths, then destroy your life with a single catastrophic lie.

MBFC is known for lying.
Deviant Art? Are you serious?

Of all the bottom-of-the-barrel sources you use to support your piss-poor arguments, you now use a site known for Sonic the Hedgehog porn?

Deviant Art is not even a news source. It's just a blog site infamous for weird, crappy amateur artwork.

This is a step below posting from Reddit.

“Attacking a source, by itself, may not be a valid argument. But if an intelligent and logical point can be made as to why a source is not trustworthy, then that can logically lead to why arguments drawn from that source aren't trustworthy.

Attacking a source shouldn't be considered fallacious if combined with logical points against the argument drawn from the source. Right?”

This is a statement of fact, not opinion. Deviant Art is a site where people can upload art work. It is not a news site.

It has to be at least an authoritative source. For example, Miriam Webster is not a news site, but it's an authoritative source for definitions.

Deviant Art is not authoritative; in fact it's not even a source for information.

But even outlets that aren't authoritative can be right, as long as they correctly cite a legitimate source; in which case, you should just use that source instead.

A con artist wants your money not your life.

That's basically true -- your life simply becomes collateral damage. To such a con-artist millions of destroyed families are irrelevant as long as they profit from it.

Just tale a look at the war industry and the drug industry.
