One issue isn't enough to vote for or against someone unless it's a biggie and more important than absolutely everything else. For a compelling reason I would vote for someone of an opposing party, but not just on one issue unless it's something huge like invading other countries.

In the Senate, politicians should vote depending on their conscience. In the house, politicians should vote based on popular opinion in their area(because we elected them to represent us.).
