The US was born as a non interventionist country. The Founding Fathers believed this to be the best policy. We were doing well economically and all was good for us through the 19th century, with the exception of the Spanish American War - which we won, and which we believed was initiated by a Spanish attack on the USS Maine. Then the World Wars came. Germany attacked us in the first; Japan in the second.
Germany and Japan got crushed by the US and her allies, resulting in the US becoming the greatest power in the history of the planet.
Clearly non-interventionism did not prevent the US from defending herself. We did just fine when we were attacked.
Why not go back to non-interventionism? Of course, Al-Quaida is our enemy, and should be smashed as Spain, Japan and Germany were. However all this ridiculous world policing needs to stop. Let people figure out on their own why our system works better than theirs and let them demand democracy on their own. Trying to force it on the world at the point of a gun isn't working. Outside intervention should only be done through the UN.
The Second Amendment, in my opinion, is based on the idea that the citizens will defend ourselves when necessary with our own privately owned weapons. I don't mean against criminals; I mean against outside invasions of our land. A huge standing military is just leading to us throwing our weight around where we have no place to. It also creates the danger of a military takeover of one sort or another.

I´m sure the native Indian population agree with you.

We differ on Al-Quaida. Invading countries to hunt for hostile, dangerous people isn't turning out very well and doesn't seem to be a viable solution to anything.
I think it appropriate to respond in kind.[/b]Don't use words like "I think" as it is not something you are capable of.
But it obvious that you "respond in kind" to Bin Laden as you are mirror images of each other.
Right wing rascist bigots who love killing innocent civilians from the other side.
I am just amazed you have the nerve to admit it.
No wonder you want to be a supreme warlord, Hitler Mussolini etc etc How often do you gaze at their posters on your wall?

When crazy, turban-wearing, scimitar-wielding Arabs highjack commercial airliners and fly them into public and privately-owned buildings killing over 3,000 of our citizens and representatives of our government, I think it appropriate to respond in kind.
