    It was wrong to lie about the motivation and to put this war which had for many conquest in mind into a religious relation.

    At least the Venetians managed to loot lots of nice stuff from Constantinople. Who knows what the Ottomans would've done with it?

    Well we all know if you remember that the Ottomans inherited Constantinople. There was plenty of nice stuff left for them and they in turn produced lots more.
