Calling them protests instead of riots doesn't make them peaceful.
Billions of dollars in damages and she said they shouldn't stop. That is unforgivable and so is supporting her saying so.

There were peaceful protests which tens of millions of Americans participated in.

There were riots and acts of violence following examples of police brutality which has occurred periodically throughout US history.

Harris supported the former.

Harris opposed the latter.
