...and, without an antagonist/protagonist thing going on, the discussions fell flat. You could change all that.
Either you come out of hiding and fight your usual corner and perhaps earn some respect (even from those who often disagree with you) for displaying the prerequisite Forum guts.
Or you continue to lay low. In which case we have no choice but to conclude that you are a nobody who only chooses to bestow us with his bent-over-backwardly partisan 'analysis' when it suits him.
Falling silent has diminished you. Speaking up for what you believe in, especially when the going gets tough, could rehabilitate you.

Israel Is Suppressing a Secret It Must Face
How did a Jewish state founded 60 years ago end up throwing filth at cowering Palestinians?
by Johann Hari
Across the occupied West Bank, raw untreated sewage is pumped every day out of the Jewish settlements, along large metal pipes, straight onto Palestinian land. From there, it can enter the groundwater and the reservoirs, and become a poison. [...] Standing near one of these long, stinking brown-and-yellow rivers of waste recently, the local chief medical officer, Dr Bassam Said Nadi, explained to me: “Recently there were very heavy rains, and the s**t started to flow into the reservoir that provides water for this whole area. I knew that if we didn’t act, people would die. We had to alert everyone not to drink the water for over a week, and distribute bottles. We were lucky it was spotted. Next time…” He shook his head in fear. This is no freak: a 2004 report by Friends of the Earth found that only six per cent of Israeli settlements adequately treat their sewage. [...] Meanwhile, in order to punish the population of Gaza for voting “the wrong way”, the Israeli army are not allowing past the checkpoints any replacements for the pipes and cement needed to keep the sewage system working. The result? Vast stagnant pools of waste are being held within fragile dykes across the strip, and rotting. Last March, one of them burst, drowning a nine-month-old baby and his elderly grandmother in a tsunami of human waste. The Centre on Housing Rights warns that one heavy rainfall could send 1.5m cubic metres of faeces flowing all over Gaza, causing “a humanitarian and environmental disaster of epic proportions”. [...] So how did it come to this? How did a Jewish state founded 60 years ago with a promise to be “a light unto the nations” end up flinging its filth at a cowering Palestinian population?

Israeli Ex-Soldiers Expose Abuse of Palestinians
In a report this week, 39 soldiers give eyewitness accounts from their patrols in and around the West Bank city of Hebron.
by Ilene R. Prusher
Today, he is one of 39 recently discharged soldiers whose testimonies are part of a grim new report on the situation in the West Bank city of Hebron, where the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) oversee a volatile population of 700 to 800 Jewish settlers living amid nearly 170,000 Palestinians. The 118-page report, which tells of systematic mistreatment of local Palestinians by both soldiers and settlers, was released during this week’s Passover holiday. [...] Efrati’s stories are far from the worst in the report. The testimonies include details of beatings and detaining Palestinians for checks without reason and making them sit or squat in uncomfortable positions. According to one troubling testimony, a soldier who gets annoyed at the sight of a Palestinian farmer whipping his donkey decides to ride the man and give him a taste of the same. The soldiers describe a constant stream of settler violence and vandalism against Palestinians, some of which is captured on the extensive camera system through which the IDF monitors what happens in the city. But if the report is correct, the footage is rarely turned over to the police to prosecute settlers.

While you're here. Any thoughts on the other story in the original links: the eviction of non-Jewish Israeli citizens from their homes. Care to comment?
Originally posted by FMFThat's a complicated issue. However, I'm inclined to believe that it is an internal matter best handled by the Israeli government.

No one with 2 cents worth of grey matter invests anymore time on these people who refuse to grow up. The middle east acts like a bunch of 8 year olds who can't play together nicely.
"It's my land...NO, it's MY land...NO, it's my land...Dad, he hit me...well, he hit me first!....Well he hit me 2nd only harder than i hit him...don't go past this line..your elbow is over the line...well your knee is over the line...waah...wahhh..punch...slap....wah wah..........................and on and on and on and on....and on and on and on.
Explain, please, why ANYONE should invest ANY more time on a region that acts like children. Until you plonkers grow up and decide to join the real world, shut the hell up and stop killing each other.
Is it really so hard to NOT kill someone?
🙄
The only people to feel sorry for are the people sitting in a cafe having a coffee enjoying the sun until some person with 10 tonnes of TNT strapped to their body blows the hell out of everything, or the person sitting in the apartment playing with their kids having a great time until some helicopter gun ship blows the hell out of the building because some guy sent a woman into a coffee shop with delusions of grandeur brainwashed into her head.
You want to debate the middle east?....Take it to the Irrelevant Forum Spanky.
