Buffet is free to donate whatever he wants in excess to his taxes. He may not feel the pinch, but the reason investment income is treated different from wages is that there is risk. Risk of loss. Wages aren't subject to that risk.
If that isn't fair to the wage earner, then let him save some money and get onto the "gravey train".
Like Bachman says, write a check Warren...... maybe your friends will follow suit, there is nothing to stop him..I think I would personally like to see them write checks to "good" charities.
Off the top of my head, St.Judes Childrens Hospital. ya Danny Thomas started that.. and no child is turned away....
Disabled Vets?
Jon Huntsman Sr. also started a hospital for cancer patients,, let them decide where and who?
Why let a government that has spent our SS, decide on where to spend this money, they have a terrible track record. On the other hand, people like Buffett apparently know something about being frugal, hell he still lives in his old home...

By your logic why not have ALL taxes voluntary? Something tells me your head is so far in the clouds you actually think that would work.

Good point about one man writing a check though, because simply taxing all the rich won't put a dent in the deficit either.....
Tea Party all the way... fiscal responsibility.... stop spending.. stop campaigning on my dollar, when the ships sinking. get back to work, your job isn't over for another 12+ months...... if you do a good job, maybe, just maybe you won't need to raise a billion dollars to keep the job???
Did Joe Biden really call us terrorists,,,lol...I think Obama is a bit of a liar...

Vice President Joe Biden joined House Democrats in lashing tea party Republicans Monday, accusing them of having “acted like terrorists” in the fight over raising the nation’s debt limit, according to several sources in the room.
Biden was agreeing with a line of argument made by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) at a two-hour, closed-door Democratic Caucus meeting.
“We have negotiated with terrorists,” an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.”
Biden, driven by his Democratic allies’ misgivings about the debt-limit deal, responded: “They have acted like terrorists.”
Biden’s office initially declined to comment about what the vice president said inside the closed-door session, but after POLITICO published the remarks, spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff said: “The word was used by several members of Congress. The vice president does not believe it’s an appropriate term in political discourse.”

He doesn't contribute. The money is confiscated. I wonder how much he would contribute, and if he doesn't think it's enough, he's free to donate more.

When you have tax policy that encourages paper investment over productive work the results are predictable. You get $64 trillion deflected into mortgage backed securities and credit default swaps.

Funny, according to Buffett he's not contributing "so much" in taxes. Which group are you claiming pays an average of $40 million in taxes, and what's your source?
Also what he said about giving the rich tax breaks not creating jobs is absolutely true.

Since they are spending virtually all their income, they are providing consumer spending the #1 impetus to job creation.
