"We feel abandoned': international students in Australia facing coronavirus alone

“I feel so inhuman in the way some Australians treat an Asian international student like me.

There is plenty of blame to go around here. I'm sure some Australians do treat Asian international students badly, and these students do feel abandoned, but who abandoned them? I would point out countries such as The Philippines, Japan, South Korea etc are fully capable of chartering airplanes and boats to transport these students back to their home to their families. In addition, many military flights are exempt from commercial flight restrictions, and most asian countries have an ample supply of them.

'Traumatized' Africans stranded by coronavirus plead to be brought home

"“We’ve gone to parliament, we’ve gone to the ministry of health, we’ve gone to the ministry of foreign affairs and taken them our petition to bring back our children,” said Namusisi, nearing tears.
Reuters spoke to families from Cameroon, Uganda, Senegal and Ethiopia with similar tales of frustration. Many have set up associations to pressure their governments to act, through letters and petitions.

"Governments across Africa have said they plan to send money to students to help with expenses. Cameroon said it was sending about $82,000 to help its citizens stuck in Hubei."

So there is that
