Syria condemned by chemical weapons body for use of sarin, chlorine
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - The executive branch of the world’s chemical weapons watchdog on Thursday condemned the use of banned sarin and chlorine bombs by Syria’s air force, but stopped short of taking direct action to penalise Damascus.
....
“The Council ...condemned the use of chemical weapons as reported by the OPCW Investigation and Identification Team (IIT), which concluded that there are reasonable grounds to believe that the Syrian Arab Republic used chemical weapons in Ltamenah, Syria in March 2017.”
Frightening and disgusting. Worse than terrorists!

This is very sad for me, my friends.
This horrible happening, this total disregard for human rights, for international
law goes without much care by RHP posters. Very sad. Apathy is not good.
I don't know why it is that everything in RHP debates has to hinge upon
two or three topics. And they are certainly compelling, but so is gassing
many innocent civilians, too. I feel so bad for these Syrian people.
Such is life, and I can't change it.
@earl-of-trumps saidUS has next to siht in Syria,,,,,,if we have a few "boots on the ground" then get them out.
Dood, the US has boots on the ground in Syria.
And genocide - especially by such things as deadly gas, just has to get the world's
attention. Madmen like this really have to be addressed.
That's what I said.
@dood111 saidI agree 100%, but you saw what happened when Trump pulled troops out

before, democrats went shoothouse. The military and others, too.
If there is provocation and the US feels that they must remove Syria's WoMD
then we may face off against Russia. And all of a sudden the stakes have been raised.
@earl-of-trumps saidBig surprise.

@Earl-of-Trumps
Syria is a pariah state. As we have seen in previous cases, Saddam’s Iraq, N. Korea, etc, they don’t respond to civilized appeals to reform. They respond only to blunt instruments, and this is demeaning to civilized nations compelled to resort to such instruments.
@moonbus saidOf course you are right about Syria's leadership.

I was more worried about the people, who I view as being punished by Assad
and again by sanctions that are aimed at Syria to get at the Assad regime.
Sad. The whole thing.
@Earl-of-Trumps
A grass-roots rebellion against a tyrant was hijacked by foreign terrorists with an altogether different agenda. Neither they nor Assad’s regime cares who gets killed or maimed in the struggle. It has been a terrible civil war, largely overshadowed by other events now. Very sad indeed. Because Syria has little to offer the West, with no natural resources and no strategic location, unlike for example Saudi Arabia or Turkey, the West has little incentive to help Syria solve its problems. Just getting rid of Assad would still leave the country in a terrible mess, ripe for take-over by equally unsavory factions.
Alas, the prognosis is not good.
@earl-of-trumps saidThis has been going on since before Trump where have you been?

@moonbus
I agree, moon, and they will never get support from the West as long as they are enemies of Israel.
@athousandyoung saidATY
This has been going on since before Trump where have you been?
I am aware of those charges by the United States at that time.
Not knowing whether the US charges were propaganda or not, I chose not
to believe them at that time.
Citizens that are skeptical of their own country is not a good thing, but the US
gov has lied so many times in the past, who can trust what they have to say?
Do you still believe we went into Afghanistan to get Osama bin Laden?
'Nuff said.
