Once again vote if you will. I am really interested how this compares to the other results.
I think this is absolutely wrong termination if we believe that people should have a first amendment right.
I think it is perfectly ok since people should be able to hire or fire whoever they wish.
Push comes to shove and I'd side with its perfectly ok. No one owes another person a job and a person should be able to fire an employee for any reason.

Originally posted by Eladar1st amendment = CONGRESS shall make no law abridging freedom of speech, etc. It doesn't give people any protection if an employer tells them they can't blabber away with opinions over social media that may hurt the company's public perception and cost them business.

She wrote to servicemembers, "Get a real life and a real job."
A real job? You idiot, you work for a freaking movie theater. That's on par with being an ice cream scooper. Woops I forgot. You don't even that job anymore...
Originally posted by EladarI am more amazed that you can be fired at the will of an employer, is that true of all states? I dont think its true in the UK, I think you need to have committed a serious breach of policy or something, in fact, its quite sick to be honest that anyone can be fired at will, how can people work in that type of environment? Is there no employee rights in the US? This is the reason i refuse to buy from amazon.co.uk.

I should have asked people to vote:
Thumbs up for the employer
Thumbs down for she should not have been fired
