Amazon saved themselves $4 billion in taxes in the Big Beautiful Bill. They used that extra cash to... cut 30,000 jobs.

Verizon saved $2 billion in the BBB, leading them to slash 15,000 jobs.

Meta is planning to layoff 20% of its workforce after netting approximately $3 billion in their taxes.

Can we finally admit that trickle down economics was and always will be a scam to get the middle class to foot the bill for government? The billionaires own all the things, and therefore have a bigger need for services like safety, security, military might, and yet they pay no taxes? They make me pay for their infrastructure.

This scam has to end. My taxes are way too high and the reason is because the largest companies in America manipulated the tax code to pay 1.37% in effective taxes while the rest of us pay 14.5% on average.

You are a small minded, narrow thinking individual, with a socialist/welfare brain which cannot understand how big economies and businesses work. Maybe Perplexity can explain a few things to you. Have a read and do some research yourself.

Amazon delivers massive economic value to the US through jobs, investments, and growth multipliers that far outweigh debates over its tax strategies.

Massive Job Creation
Amazon employs over 1 million people directly in the US and supports nearly 5 million jobs overall, including suppliers and logistics. Its fulfillment centers spark local booms: five years after opening one, counties average 6,000 more small businesses, 10,000 new workers, and 12,000 fewer unemployed.

Huge Investments
The company invested a record $340 billion in the US in 2025 alone—on infrastructure, AI, cloud tech, and employee pay—pushing total contributions since 2010 past $1.8 trillion to GDP. This creates a 1.2x multiplier: every $1 invested generates $1.20 more in economic activity.

Small Business Boost
Over 60% of Amazon's sales come from independent sellers, who employ 1.8 million Americans, with rural sellers growing 60% year-over-year. It empowers entrepreneurs who might struggle elsewhere.

Tax Reality Check
Amazon paid $4.9 billion in combined US federal and state cash taxes in 2025 (60% of its global total), down due to legal incentives for investment—not evasion. Those breaks encourage the jobs and spending above, benefiting everyone.

That's not the point. The point is that if you give them more cash through government-initiated tax incentives, that does not in any way correlate with job creation. They create jobs only if they need to create jobs. Amazon cut tens of thousands of jobs in 2025.

And the percent of income dollars that they pay vs. what I pay is important. If they pay less, everyone else must pay more. When they win the tax war, everyone else loses.

The findings revealed that ChatGPT-4 and Claude exhibit a liberal bias, Perplexity is more conservative, while Google Gemini adopts more centrist stances.

Check it yourself. I used Perplexity. The question " How does Amazon contribute to the US economy despite its big tax breaks?"

You asked a biased AI a loaded question and got the result you wanted. It means nothing.

From ChatGPT:

Prompt: do the taxes Amazon pays fully cover all of the costs of the police, fire departments, judges, road maintenance and all other public goods and services used as part of its regular business activities?

Answer: Short answer: almost certainly not

AI simply produces information about a topic. The opening post ignores the contribution made by these large companies. It is the opening comment that is loaded and biased and therefore means nothing.
