It's even more appaling when we take into account that the majority in nationwide polls right now support the removal of the tube. What we have is a majority in the gov't pandering to a large, vocal, and crucial minority in the population.
It seems to me that the Republican party realizes that committing to overturning Roe vs. Wade is not in its best interests. So to appease the vital right-wing xtian portion of their base, they make their stand on Terri's case instead.
