Can anyone from the Northern Hemisphere who doesn't have immediate Kiwi connections name any famous New Zealanders.

Ernest Rutherford was definitely a Kiwi. I can't think of any other famous Kiwis.

Crowded House was the biggest.. they were Aussie but Kiwi Neil Finn (ex Split Ends) joined them wrote the songs and lead the group to stardom.

Has anyone heard of a crooner called John Rowles who played the big clubs in Vegas and Honalulu?

Some may know Sam Neill the actor.

Did anyone watch a movie called Whale Rider up there?

We are doing the debating down here.. a bunch of people in local tv and entertainment circles keep going on about the wonderful overseas success of kiwi talent.. but I never met any family or friends in Uk that had heard of anyone.. curious?
