"So don't become some background noise
A backdrop for the girls and boys
Who just don't know or just don't care
And just complain when you're not there
You had your time, you had the power
You've yet to have your finest hour

All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio ga ga
All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio blah blah
Radio what's new?
Radio, someone still loves you!" Queen.

Agree, because trying to control all channels of communication is a bit like trying to maintain a perfect vacuum. Yes you can do it, but only under very strictly controlled lab conditions. Because of Nature's abhorrence for vacuums, you couldn't maintain one over say an arena the size of the Louisiana Superdome. Even if you could it would probably suck your vacuum budget dry.

So no, given the vastness of bandwidth out there, and the willingness of many to keep in touch with emerging technologies, the notion that somehow someone or group could plug up access to all that bandwidth such that only authorized use of those airwaves at a cost to the user would be the end reality is a flawed one. imo.

I guess I disagree, for the same reason I disagree with "The land is everyone's forever."
If given free reign, people would make a mess of the airwaves for their selfish purposes and chaos would ensue. Government regulates, as it should.

Now, if you ask if the FCC is allowing airwaves to be used most effectively, you might get a different answer.

This is what "The airwaves are everyone's, forever" means. What did you imagine it to mean?

It looked like you were implying some kind of airwave anarchy. But putting it like you do here, I agree, though you can still do with the airwaves what you want as long as you build a metal box around your house.

Don't you feel that a National Museum is everyone's? National Parks are everyone's, yes? And both in perpetuity, one hopes.

Disagree. They belong to Thomas Dolby:

Of course. So being owned by "the people" would imply that they are "public airwaves". So if they are "public airwaves" then the government should be the ones to monitor them and censor them.....right?
