Well, well, well...

Well!

In some countries the mushrooms are shooting out the ground like hidden WMD sites in the minds of Western leaders. Yet in Iraq, where there was a distinct lack of blossoming WMD sites, there seems to be a growing tendency of officials stumbling over hidden torture prisons...

Who would have guessed that removing Saddam wouldn't change the situation one iota?
Maybe it's true what Napoleon said: "Among those who dislike oppression are many who like to oppress."

And maybe it's true that being oppressed doesn't make you more humane, it just makes you a better oppressor.

Perhaps it is just me, but I get a horrible feeling that Saddam and the Taliban are not responsible for the inhumanity and suffering in their respective countries, but that they may well have been a result of it. A natural conclusion to the circumstances they live(d) in.

What do you think?

I think the more things change, the more they stay the same. But we all know how I feel about regime change in Iraq. I would be interested to know what all those "Things are better in Iraq!" people think about this.

wow, very impressive. your article (from an anti-american source) does not even say who did the torture. It could of been iraqis or terrorists.

your problem is that you are trying to find whatever you can to prove a certain agenda or point of view, instead of using facts to form your opinions.

So the BBC is an anti-american source. The last time I checked, granted that was only yesterday so things could have changed, the British were still our allies.

Do you only believe news source from within the US? Because if our greatest ally of all time is now an Anti-American source then we are in big trouble.

It is strange that all the war supporters haven't posted here stating it is all a lie. Well except for the one moron that said the BBC was an anti-American source. I figure that Slimjim would be in here saying how good torture is for your cuticles or something equally stupid.

I am begging for one of you war-supporting--the-Iraqis-are-better-off-now types to comment on these developments. Please. Pretty please.

Oh I forgot that it is in your mandate to ignore anything that contradicts your point of view.

🙁

If the US continues its arrogant and imperialist foreign policy, the UK, along with almost every other country will become "anti-american"

Will become, but isn't at the moment. So are you saying that the BBC article is made up to make the Americans look bad or did you even look at it?

Not at all. I'm simply saying that the US is becoming less and less respectable.

Um... no. These are new ones. We aren't cleansing the country of torture jails (Abu Ghraib).

Allot means to distribute or parcel out. A lot means many. Don't worry many people make the same mistake but most don't use two L's. How am I to take your reply seriously if you can't even spell correctly? Am I to assume that you are very young, in which case I should just ignore you. Let's talk about were versus we're. In this case the lack of an apostrophe completely changes the meaning of the word.

Why? There are many, many nations that have a strong history of arrogant imperialism. Great Britian is right up there with the best of them.
