I think your sides' argument is disingenuous: For you, it's not about saving soldiers lives, it's about playing politics to make the president look bad. Moreover, if we did withdraw, don't you think there'd be a repeat of the holocaust that occurred in Viet Nam and Cambodia following our withdrawal there (which, by the way, your side precipitated patriotism. Just as the war resisters were wrong in Viet Nam, they're wrong about Iraq.
You're a complete phony. Your posts above exuded nothing but scorn and hatred for the average Iraqi; you don't care one bit about them and you know it. If the US had accepted the inevitability of their failure in Viet Nam at a earlier time, the consequences to the Vietnamese would have been far less severe and continuing the war as long as we did caused the death of about 2 million Vietnamese. Cambodia would have avoided the Khmner Rouge disaster if the US hadn't decided to overthrow Prince Sihanouk and impose a puppet government so that the US could openly engage in military operations in Cambodia. The Reagan administration later supported the Khmer Rouge government in exile after it had been overthrown.

Opposing an unjust and terrible war is always right. Killing on a mass scale is going on now in Iraq; it's way past time to end our complicity in it.
