Look at the UK today. Do we have civil liberties? No. Do we have freedom of expression? No. Do we have an unbiased media? No, the BBC, funded by the state, is more leftist than ever. (1) The civil liberties have been taken away by an authoritarian government to pursue authoritarian goals. Communist? Yes, and (ooh, lets avoid the usual H word) Franco was communist then. And Peron. Authoritarian does not equate to Communist. And it certainly doesn't equate to classical Marxist.
(2) Yes, we do.Else you wouldn't be allowed to express the opinion we have no freedom of expression.
(3) No, we don't, you are correct, the media is all tied to the same consensus. Basically, the consensus that neo-liberal capitalism is grand, western civilization is at it's highest point, and ideas such as communism, marxism, socialism etc are dead in the water. How many programs on the BBC do you have about capitalist economics? How often do they invite Marxist critics on there? Does the BBC own the press, or do very rich, very capitalist media barons own it?
