Everyone knows about the kinds of evil perpetrated by supervillans in films. Well here you can post realistic nastiness that relies on people's gullibility. For example:
An evil scientist produces a study (with data obtained by suspect means) which shows that fruit increases the incidence of some horrible but extremely rare degenerative disease. When he gets found out by other scientists and is discredited, he claims it's all a conspiracy by major fruit manufacturers and their scientist lackeys. The media sides with the evil scientist, who cackles as Britain is hit by an epidemic of scurvy.
Originally posted by AcolyteI heard of this! It was called mad cow disease. It shut down a whole industry based on paranoid media reports. No one would import beef from England because they thought it was certain to give them Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

Whether it's the religious people roaming door to door, Join the army (get out of poverty and have yourself an education) campaign or men who pray on insecure children.

Reminds me of a joke ...
You probably know that Mad Cow Disease is also known as BSE. Anyway ...
Q: What's the difference between BSE and PMT ?
A: One's a mad cow problem and the other's an agricultural problem.
(Sorry to any women whose sense of humour doesn't stretch that far).
Q. Whats the differance between a pottle of yoghurt and an Aussie.
A. The yoghurt is easier to take and contains more culture.
