‘The free world needs a new leader', EU’s top diplomat says after Trump-Zelensky clash
European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said “the free world needs a new leader” after US President Donald Trump clashed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday. “It's up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge," she added in her social media post.

I do believe this is the European Union's time to take over the helm. It will need to increase aid of all kinds to Ukraine, and also increase military spending to prepare for two contingencies: a US invasion of Greenland directed by Trump, and a Russian invasion of the Baltic states directed by an emboldened Putin who clearly has Trump in his pocket. The US has gone over to the side of dictators and despots, and it appears likely to continue to side with Russia, North Korea, Belarus, and other rogue nations in UN resolution votes until such time as Trump is ousted from power and MAGA consigned to the ash heap of history in the company of Adolf Hitler's bones.
The UK and Canada should coordinate with the EU within the NATO framework to contain the US and Russia in the Atlantic theater, and Mexico should be included in NATO. In practical terms this may necessitate setting up a "shadow NATO" with its own infrastructure and staff that excludes the US completely. Meanwhile preparations should be made to "contain" US military assets and bases in Europe if/when the US makes a grab for Greenland, because the troops in those bases would need to be considered enemy combatants on EU soil.
Much work to be done. With luck a civil uprising in the US will precipitate the collapse of MAGA and dethronement of Trump and co-president Musk inside a year or two. Certainly if the midterm elections are canceled or hijacked by MAGA operatives a swift revolution will be imperative.
