These are excerpts from the original Hamas Covenant that outlines what their intentions and goals are. It was written in 1986. In 2006, the people of Gaza had an election and kicked out the ruling PLO, and VOTED FOR HAMAS.
I'd be interested to see who here would vote for these goals as stated in the Hamas Covenant:
"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." (Preamble)
The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him." (Article 7)
"[Peace] initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement... Those conferences are no more than a means to appoint the infidels as arbitrators in the lands of Islam... There is no solution for the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility." (Article 13)
@uzless saidWe had this discussion several months ago and many here would be happy to see Israel wiped out. Hamas did revise the Charter in 2016 and removed the obvious statements about killing Jews, but the sentiment is there in watered down language. Statements like 'from the river to the sea' is there meaning that all of Palestine is going to be an Arab state and Jews will have to live under Sharia Law.

@uzless saidNobody on this forum, so far as I know, would vote for Hamas.

And many, myself included, rallied actively against them and their ideology.
What Hamas did do was invest in children’s education, playgrounds, etc.
The PLO lacked funds and was blocked and harrassed by Israel, and couldn’t do the same.
So, many people in Gaza voted for a party that was openly achieving goals for their kids.
Another point to consider is: if your grandparents, your parents and yourself have lived as oppressed refugees in places like Gaza for decades, do you think you wouldn’t become a little exasperated? A little frustrated? Maybe a little aggressive and less subtle in how you communicate or vote?
Look at the polarization happening in Europe and the US. What do you think it’s like in places like Gaza, the West Bank, Israel?
Both Israel and Gaza have swung towards a religious and extremist right. You see the samw thing, albeit slightly less extreme, happening in the US and Europe.
That’s where polarization leads to.
The opposition becomes an enemy and all forms of middle ground evaporate like hope in the wind.
@shavixmir saidWrong, there are several. EintaluJ, a supporter of terrorism came on here shortly Oct 7th, condemning the Jews for attacking Gaza, and asking the modertors to remove/ban me for voicing support for IDF. There are others who have wished to see Israel bombed, and completely destroyed with nuclear weapons. Only Hamas with help from Iran can acheive this. Im sure there are many more.

@Rajk999 saidNever heard of that singular person.

And I’m pretty much sure you are wrong.
I’ve not heard one person say they’re pro Hamas.
It’s in your little racist peanut brain.

I HAVE ABANDONED THE CHESS PLATFORM RED HOT PAWN
Red Hot Pawn is complicit in several crimes as it does not take down ultra-zionists' extremist posts from the Forum, and it does not ban such users.
Red Hot Pawn is an agora for ultra-zionists: every day, the Forum contains their hate speeches, slandering and intimidating the critics and advertising mass murders, ethnic cleansing and genocide.
Now this man has several Facebook pages [I checked them], that praise Hamas and supports the killing of Jews. He does not dare to do that openly here because of people like me who are likely to respond, whereas in Facebook his profile will all contain like-minded friends who are also terrorist supporters.

Indeed, should enquire further, I oppose borders altogether and don’t believe that society’s should be ruled by religion. Ever. In whatever context.
I don’t know this cracker. His post here doesn’t mention being pro-Hamas, and I certainly ain’t takin’ the time to stalk him.
@Rajk999 saidWhere did that guy say he supports Hamas? Any direct quotes?
