@AThousandYoung saidThat's because they've never had any in their country until recently.
Irish Americans have always tended to be more tolerant of outsiders than Anglos were until fairly recently.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidI don't think you understand what "Irish American" means.
That's because they've never had any in their country until recently.
@Rajk999 saidThe truth is, that's if you can handle the truth, racists in general don't discriminate against who they discriminate against.
Racist attacks by the Irish against East Indians have become common in the last couple years. I can bet the reason has something to do with India's support for the Jews, while Ireland supports Palestinian Arabs.
So if you champion putting down one section of humanity because of some racial attribute, you may end up being the target from another group for purely arbitrary reasons. Trying to logically link why one group targets another is pure conjecture, but is made possible by people with deeply entrenched views about the nature and character of groups they choose to demonise.
@AThousandYoung saidAnd in the late 1800s and early 1900s boarding houses in England would warn, no Actors or Irish.
Old newspaper cartoons comparing Irish to Blacks in contrast to Anglos:

The Irish were discriminated against by the Anglo Saxons whenever they followed along with the expansion of Western Civilisation.
Shock horror. The abused becomes the abuser.
@kmax87 saidThat is not true. People tend to put down others for bad behavior, poor conduct and other negative human traits [common to all people], and not necessarily racial attributes. Although Im sure that some do what you say.. eg a man might say he hates the kind of hair Africans have, or the colour of their skin. If he applies that to all blacks then that is a racist remark based on a racial characteristic, not a human one.

In my case which is what I think you are getting at, I put down Islamic extremism because of their religion, which instructs them to kill unbelievers [and other forms of abuse]. The Quran spells this out clearly and some Muslims actually carry out this. If I condemn this extremism, which I intend to do as much as I can, then that is not racial discrimination at all. I condemn their behaviour.
In the case of the Irish, there is no negative behaviour of Indians in Ireland. Indians generally assimilate well and they are mostly very highly qualified and hard working. So the only reason for hating them is because they support Israel. The is pure racism.
@AThousandYoung saidWTF has "Irish American" got to do with what's going on in Ireland?
I don't think you understand what "Irish American" means.
@Arkturos said^I was responding to the above post. Ask this guy.
@Rajk999
Of course this is just a partial micro-observation, but decades ago in the USA (and maybe even now), I think the Irish did despise people of color as well as Jewish people -- and for what reason? Most of those Irish were pasty-faced and ugly, and not necessarily literate. 😉
