You can always tell a member if "the liberal media" It is any news organization that tells Republicans in America something they don't want to hear (never mind that it may be true). This is an effective
G O P tactic of attacking anyone who does not march in lockstep with the Conservative agenda. 😏
Try this! Look at the coverage of Sarah Palin, compared to that of her counterpart Joe Biden. Was there a Biden lookalike on SNL? Was his fashion budget examined. Were his many gaffs disected? Was the legitimacy of his children questioned?
How about the Presidential candidates. In the mainstream press, how much did you read about Bill Ayers, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, or Tony Rezko? Blips on the radar. Somehow McCain's property became an issue, even though the houses belong to his wife.
March in lockstep? Pleeeeease? Fox New presents a balanced panel, with two liberals and two conservatives on their Sunday morning opinion show, Fox News Sunday. The same can't be said for the other network shows.
American's see this, even if you don't. Network news, and most traditional newspapers have lost over half their audience over the past couple of decades. People recognize the bias, and choose to get their news from more objective sources, or from sources the recognize that the leftist view isn't the only valid one.

Originally posted by normbenignThe audience shift is not due to an effort to run away from bias, but due to the ready access of news with the preferred slant through cable news, and in new media (e.g. the web). CNN and FOX have taken the television viewers from network news. Newspapers have been in decline since the emergence of television news.

Even as traditional news sources have declined, the Washington Post, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal have expanded their readerships, due both to improvements in publishing technology that facilitates home delivery everywhere, and because of their web presence.

so please explain to me the difference in treatment between Palin and Kennedy...One was crucified and the other ignored by the media...
By the time Kennedy was ten years old, she had more experience dealing with the media than Palin ever will. This experience aids her in avoiding the foolish public relations errors that were Palin's norm. She probably also had a better understanding of the issues at 10 than Palin at age 44, but that's less significant than Palin's PR gaffes.
I'm not certain what you mean by ignored. It seems to me that I see Kennedy on television almost every night.

But, this thread is about the MSM, which is far from left wing.

maybe the liberal media exagerated, but that doesn't mean she was the best option.
