Debates

Interesting:

"Just before 5:30 p.m. local time, California’s grid operator ordered its highest level of emergency, warning that blackouts were imminent. Then, at 5:48 p.m., the state’s Office of Emergency Services sent out a text alert to people in targeted counties, asking them to conserve power if they could.

Within five minutes the grid emergency was all but over.

Power demand plunged by 1.2 gigawatts between 5:50 and 5:55 p.m., and would continue to drop in the hours after that, according to data from the California Independent System Operator. A gigawatt is enough to power about 750,000 Californian homes."

See what happens when you have a State filled with people who are concerned with the common good?

No no no, rotating blackouts COULD be imminent, that is all I am saying, as say the CA news sources. But look how the socialist leaders are talking down to the peons.
It just ain't right. Picture that horrible presidential contender Gavin turning his thermostat to 79! hahaha. Do you y'all like this caricature Gavin person?
Dude this isn’t Texas we got it under control.

Almost. Maybe.

I live in Florida.
Ron Desantis is Donald Trump on placebo.
He's a lightweight up-punching his little heart out.

There's a goofy ad of him acting tough in a flight helmet. He was Navy. But he was a desk-lawyer.
Reminiscent of Michael Dukakis riding in an Army tank back in '88.

Laughing stock.
You got me on this one, I sure ain’t laughing about the hell brought by Biden. Funny, any laughing by you dependents is laughing with glee!

But why did the common-good patrol stop there, Karl?
Surely all the dependents need heeeeeeellllp, to right their little ships. To all be made equal.
Really, at what point will you know when the good who are common have been thoroughly served by the government? A chicken in every pot?

Perfection isn't required just some mitigation of the damage selfish a-holes do.

OK. A ‘selfish’ analogy, even the jester will get it.
There is a country. Only two men with their families live there, one to the west, one to the south. Old Woody just grubs for tubers and edibles, and poke salad, catches a few fish, snares a rabbit, tries to keep the roof from leaking. Literally hand to mouth.
Then there’s Big Al, very productive, plants, sells produce, buys goats, builds things solid, puts food in cellar for winter, digs a well, schools the kids.

Woody shuffles over and asks him to share, split, give up, his stuff to him.
Define selfish for us. Expound maybe on duty of care? If he gets upset with the successful Al, should it concern Al?
You can go ahead and comment on morality and charity, evasive tactics, but just how does Al deal with this loser? They are not connected. I myself would give him something, maybe even advice as I sent him on his way, far far away, but the guy needs to be self-sufficient.
Now THERE is a word to wrestle with!

Just who has standing to do this mitigation thing?

The People.

Please stick your "analogies" where the Sun doesn't shine.

Man is a social creature that lives in groups for mutual aid and protection. Your world where some "great men" achieve amazing things with no aid from anybody else is a fantasy.

No AC from 4-9 pm.

It’s not a big deal.
Just keep saying "It's better than being under Trump" and get back to us when the Dems make food shortages power shortages and no running water commonplace, I bet you'll still be saying that.

Yeah, I got an alert on my phone.....
Oddly enough, San Diego has relatively few residential A/C's.

The mob. I picture pitchforks . You’ll be watching from the balcony with champagne and caviar. A true socialist overseeing the pitifulwretches.

It is impossible for a Marxist to say anything which might ire a capitalist, because we know that we prevail right out of the gate. Didn’t like the analogy because you would not like the only true answer .
Tell us about the duty of care owed to the man who did not work as hard as did our good man Big Al. Does it ever occur to libs , in such a case, that the non workers drag the workers down?
And your response suggests that citizens have right to depend on other citizens. They most certainly do not.

Your ridiculous idea that the division of wealth in a capitalist society is based on how hard someone works is something only a willfully blind idiot would believe. Therefore, treating these absurd "analogies" seriously would be an assignment for children not for serious debaters.

All citizens rely on other citizens and it is simple minded to believe otherwise. The People in California just reiterated that obvious truth.
