When I got dumped for a younger woman after 24yrs I was counselled that:
the core reason is always "lack of communication".
It leads to insecurity then people start looking elsewhere.
70% of women find another man to confide in before making the step to separation... they don't usually want to hurt their partner and haven't got the strength to leave on their own.. Emotional security being the carrot. They leave and let the partner find out later that they have gone with someone else.
Apparently men leave for a wider variety of reasons and are often harder in the way they leave.
My 2nd wife and I regularly check our happimess level scores in an amenable way. We have 4 years together and the levels aren't too bad. 😀
