Context and tone makes for acceptable use. Here downunder in Oz, calling a mate you f..ing c word is usually taken as a positive term of endearment.

But change the tone and emphasis on which syllables are stressed and it can be the flashpoint to a really big fight. Its like when you are new to a group, can you call someone that you don't really know that well yet, by the n ...[text shortened]... n the peer group is comfortable calling them? Its tricky and easy to make a lasting social faux pas.
Yeah, if one listens to Jim Jeffries, for say 20-30 min, it loses it's offensiveness pretty quickly.
