-Removed-The UK government is certainly dysfunctional, though less so than the US government. What I'm sayin' here is that maybe being in the European Union was not the root of the UK's problems. The EU was made a scapegoat to stir up right-wing sentiment, and now you're all off to scapegoat immigrants and what have you.

It is premature to write the EU off. It expanded far too fast and has made many mistakes, but greater political integration is the key. That is what is needed to increase representation and give people a greater voice. Time will tell.
