Actually this is the whole libertarian-anarchist shtick: "If you force me to pay taxes to protect everyone's rights equally, then I am not free, hence I am a slave."

To which the reply is: "No. In a society, you are OBLIGATED to help protect everyone's rights equally and paying taxes discharges that obligation. That is not slavery - that is creating the society which protects the rights of ALL individuals so that they can ALL be free."
