This show claims that Al Qaeda as a legal entity is a creation of the US judicial system. As soon as I heard this, I took the rest of what the show said with a truck load of salt.

Says some interesting things, but is pretty far off the mark if they wish to argue that Al Qaeda never existed as an organisation/entity before the 1st WTC attacks.

They don't say that. I thought that at first, but that is a dangerous misconception of what they said. They said that it wasn't reffered to as Al-Qaeda by them.
Now consider the rest of the movie. The show is by the BBC, so they wouldn't say that Al-Qaeda was invented. Al-Qaeda WAS made more powerful by US international intervention, and it's power WAS exaggerated by the media.
With all this said, I don't believe everything in it.

Well even that is wrong. In 1987 Abdullah Azzam said of the MAK ((Afghan) Services Bureau), “this vanguard that constitutes al-qaidah al-sulbah for the expected society”. Al-qaidah al-sulbah translates to “The Solid Base”. Might not be the Al Qaeda as we've all come to know and love it today but it certainly is the pretext.

Don't get me wrong, the show had a lot of what I believe as thruths. I think it just tilted a little towards the "conspiracy nut" side, not by much but a bit at least.

I thought that the name Al Qaeda was not in effect until the 2001 hearings (they were pre-9-11: January, I believe). But as I said, I did not believe the documentary to be 100% accurate.
