The deeds of the G O P under G. W. Bush reads like a list of what NOT to do when you get into office. ie: Lies about the need to invade Iraq (have they found any of those weapons of mass destruction yet?), deciding the wealthy don't have to pay there fair share in taxes, preaching fiscal restraint, while spending like drunken sailors on there pet projects, turning a blind eye to America's growing economic problems, there many legal and sex scandals, giving passive approval for offshoring so many good paying American jobs (all in the name of free trade), being unwilling to listen to what American's really want (none of the above!). All this can be traced to one concept. ARROGENCE! I've not made up my mind about the Democrats, but the G O P has a lot of work to do before most American's (including myself) trust them again...

This is nonsense. The wealthiest Americans pay most of the taxes in this country while over 40 percent of the lowest earning Americans pay no federal income taxes at all. Also, the tax code got more progressive under President Bush.
[b]preaching fiscal restraint, while spending like drunken sailors on there pet projects.[b]
You got this one right, however, if you don't like how the Republicans governed on these issues, you're really not going to like how the Democrats handle them.
[b]turning a blind eye to America's growing economic problems[b]
Not true. The President and Republicans were the first to not e that there was a problem with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, but were rebuffed by Democrats.
[b]there many legal and sex scandals[b]
I guess your memory is short, or have you already forgotten about Elliot Spitzer, John Edwards, Elliot Spitzer, Tim Mahoney and Blair Hull?
[b]giving passive approval for offshoring so many good paying American jobs (all in the name of free trade)[b]
This is in response to unions making the cost of labor too expensive. For example, why do you think Detroit is trolling for a $25 billion dollar "stimulus package" of its own when Toyota, Mercedes and Saturn (all located in the South, in Right to Work states) are doing fine? By the way, empowering unions and protectionism contributed to and prolonged the Great Depression. Repeating these mistakes is not the way to avoid another economic depression.

It isn't arrogance. It's the fact that GW was a pathetic choice for President. It would have been nice to have a true conservative as President, instead of a "compassionate conservative".

US weapons inspector David Kay told Congress in testimony in 2003 that US satellite surveillance revealed substantial vehicular traffic in convoys from Iraq to Syria in February and March of that same year. Clapper said the the intelligence community determined the convoys contained missiles and WMD components that were banned by the UN Security Council..... The Bush administration's desire to protect Russia from international embarrassment motivated it to suppress this intellignece in the hope that Russia would assist America in limiting Iran's and North Korea's plans to achieve a nuclear warhead. quotation from a book by Grant R. Many in America (you know ...like Republicans) haven't figured out that America does not have the resources to invade every country that MIGHT be a threat to American security. Thankfully most American's feel the same way, and voted as such in the last election.

Originally posted by bill718Bush was not alone in that assumption. Have you listened to speeches made in congress at the same time? Even Hillary backed him up. Now the demos talk as though Bush made it all up. And those weapons had been there up until March 2003. Unless you believe he should have consulted a crystal ball, I think all this blame is petty. Intelligence may have not been able to keep up with Iraq's covert actions, but to say Bush lied is just not thinking straight.
